FT Prince was born in South Africa in 1912 and educated there and at Oxford and Princeton. He served in Army Intelligence during the war and was Professor of English at the University of Southampton from 1957 to 1974. Collected Poems 1935 - 1992 is published by Carcanet at pounds 25.
