Elizabeth Jennings was born in Lincolnshire in 1926. She has spent most of her life in Oxford. Her first book won a Somerset Maugham Award, the first of many distinctions and a CBE for services to poetry. Over the last 20 years Carcanet has published many of her books including Selected Poems, Collected Poems, Tributes, and Times and Seasons.
