The Daily Poem: This week the 'Independent' publishes five original poems, commissioned as responses to prize-winning pictures from the South Bank Photo Show, which opened last week: Here Carol Ann Duffy writes about Jackie Stefano's Grange Over Sands

THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Jackie Stefano, who took Grange Over Sands, won a pounds 500 prize in the South Bank Photo Show.
Stefano was born in 1962 and lives and works in London. Her most recent projects involve colour manipulation and the people and animals of India. An exhibition of her work can be seen at the Cafe Casbar in Earlham Street, London, in July.
THE POET: Carol Ann Duffy was born in 1955 and educated in Stafford and at the University of Liverpool. Her books include Selling Manhattan and The Other Country.
She won the Eric Gregory award in 1984 and the Somerset Maugham award in 1988.
