Camilla's wedding marked by Diana's favourite, Testino

Clarence House released an official photograph of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall yesterday to mark their first wedding anniversary.

The colour portrait was shot by Mario Testino, best known for his images of Princess Diana, and the new pictures were seen as part of Royal Family's ongoing campaign to "glamorise" Charles's second wife. In the image, Charles, looking happy and tanned, stands next to a smiling Camilla with his arm round her and his hand resting on her shoulder. She is wearing a cornflower blue silk outfit by Robinson Valentine and pearl drop earrings.

The Prince has a cornflower in his lapel, picked from his gardens at Highgrove. He is wearing a dark Turnbull & Asser suit with a striped Royal Naval Air Service tie and a patterned handkerchief in his pocket. Other photographs will be in the May issue of British Vogue.

The Prince and the Duchess are spending their first anniversary privately at Birkhall in Scotland, where they honeymooned last year. A Clarence House spokesman said: "Mr Testino is a photographer the Prince and the Duchess admire, and they were delighted that he could take this picture."

Testino's images of the Diana became central to her myth and iconography.
