It really is the quiet ones that you have to watch

Never underestimate the immorality of the quiet woman. Or the noisy man, for that matter. Scientists have discovered the types most likely to have affairs.

Women who are reserved, and preoccupied with themselves, and men who are outgoing with an eye for detail are more likely to be unfaithful, according to research carried out among office workers.

Psychologists at Glasgow Caledonian University quizzed office workers, whose average age was 30. The number of affairs went from zero to more than six, with 40.4 per cent saying they had had an affair.

The men were confident, outgoing, good-natured, less likely to find fault with themselves and more hostile than faithful men. Women who showed these characteristics were less likely to have affairs. One theory is that more dominant men are attractive to women who do not have those characteristics. But it could just be a case of the men being all talk.
