In Cornwall the regions of Kingsand, Cawsand and Millbrook celebrate the Flower Boat Ritual on the May Day bank holiday. A large procession of people wearing red and white clothing wind through streets decorated with flowers. The procession accompanies a large model of a ship called The Black Prince, which is also covered in garlands of flowers. The floral boat is eventually cast adrift at the beach at Cawsand amid much celebration, Morris and Maypole dancing.
