Tunnel trains given go-ahead
Eurostar was yesterday given an operating certificate by safety authorities to run trains through the Channel tunnel. Passenger services to Paris and Brussels are expected to start on 14 November, with two trains a day to each city, building up to 15 each by the summer.
Fares will be announced on Monday, but are expected to start at under pounds 80, with full- price travellers paying more than pounds 300.
