Two German tourists died and two soldiers were badly hurt in a head-on crash between a coach and an army truck on the A82 from Fort William to Glasgow, north of Bridge of Orchy.

Strathclyde police said 16 people from the coach and three from the army vehicle, including its driver, were injured. Some had to be cut from the wreckage before being flown to hospital in Oban.

The army truck was reported to have plunged down an embankment in the crash near Loch Tulla, in Strathclyde.
