A YOUTH football team insists it is improving - despite conceding 49 goals in its first two games this season.
Red Hall Rangers, from Darlington, Co Durham, ended the first match against Esh Winning Under-18s 25-0 down. However, in their next fixture, against West Auckland Juniors, the defeat was only 24-0.
A team spokesman said the players had not expected to set the Auckland and District Youth League alight but no one had prepared them for their first two disasters.
They were showing signs of improvement and there was 'nothing wrong' with David Dean, the goalkeeper. He was let down by the defence.Reuse content
