WAR IN THE BALKANS: Timetable: Days 47 & 48

12.40am: Beta news agency reports several detonations heard near Nis, 120 miles south-east of Belgrade. It said Nis airport was targeted. Other overnight targets were a military radio relay site at Kosovska Mitrovica in northern Kosovo and a petroleum storage site in Pristina.

5.20am: Albanian TV says KLA killed 22 Serbian paramilitaries in the Gollak area of Kosovo over the weekend.

7.40am: Viktor Chernomyrdin, Russia's envoy for Kosovo, flies to China to discuss Nato's bombing of the Chinese embassy and ways to end the Yugoslav crisis.

9.30am: Yugoslavia and the Nato allies involved in bombing Yugoslavia begin legal battle in the World Court in The Hague over air strikes.

11am: The moderate Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova has an audience with the Pope.

11.15am: Chinese students stone US and British embassies in third day of protest, and China says it is breaking off diplomatic contacts with Washington on human rights and arms control over embassy bombing.

12.20pm: After a quiet night, air raid sirens sound in Belgrade.

2pm: Beta agency reports senior member of the Bosnian Serb Socialist Party killed at Belgrade Hotel Jugoslavia in Nato attack. Nato said hotel is command centre for Serb paramilitary leader Arkan to operate in Kosovo.

2.30pm: Tanjug state news agency says Nato fired eight missiles at Ladjevci village near Kraljevo, central Serbia.

3.30pm: Tanjug says Yugoslav army has announced partial withdrawal from Kosovo, starting 10pm on Sunday.

4.30pm: Nato says air campaign will continue.
