A gadget manufacturer claims to have come up with a new, hassle-free, answer to the perennial question: how do you like your eggs?

But the internet appears to have responded with a resounding: “Not like that!”

Rollie's Eggmaster cooks the egg in a vertical cylinder before helpfully pushing it out when ready.

The manufacturer boasts of the lack of mess and ease it offers, as the gadget does all the work.

Wooden skewers are even provided to help you remove the finished ‘meal’.

But the quivering mass that emerges appears to have led some to make comparisons between the cooked egg log and the sandworms of Dune and the graboids from the film Tremors.
