What was meant to be one of the most memorable moments of one young couple’s relationship soon turned into a bit of a nightmare after a proposal on a pedalo saw a wife-to-be inadvertently knock an engagement ring out of her boyfriend’s hand and into the lake below just seconds after his proposal.
The video, which has already received nearly 2 million views in only four days, begins serenely enough as the man who is only known by his YouTube username Swilk 16 and his girlfriend enjoy a relaxing pedalo ride with friends on a lake.
As the boat travels across the lake, Swilk 16 calls to his girlfriend to look at the shore where he has organised a group of people to hold up signs with the words “Will You Marry Me?” written on them.
As she looks at the signs, Swilk quickly pulls out a ring and waits for her answer.

However, before she can say the words “I do”, a playful tap on her boyfriend’s arm causes him to lose grip of the ring, juggle it and eventually drop it into the lake below.
Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, friends watch in silence as Swilk 16 scrabbles around in the waist-high water shouting “Oh my god” before others get in to help him.
It is not known whether she did say yes or whether the ring was ever found, however the fact that Swilk 16 was able to post the indicates a happy ending.Reuse content
