Video shows woman dancing with sharks to prove their 'social skills'
Cristina Zenato has been nominated as a Shark Ambassador by several organisations
To prove how sharks 'are actually amazing creatures' a scuba diving instructor has filmed herself dancing while being surrounded by them.
The video shows Cristina Zenato, a nominated Shark Ambassador, twirling around underwater as many of the occasionally fearsome animals appear far from aggressive.
Ms Zenato says the dance is a means of proving to her students how to trust sharks.
"After making the sharks swim around me in circles, and dropping the container of food I have just fed them from, I stretch my arms out and spin in circles to demonstrate that sharks are not at all interested in biting or attacking," she says.
The shark handling instructor told The Independent that the often maligned animals "are actually amazing creatures, capable of learning and understanding of basic social skills.
"I have been a shark ambassador and advocate to change people's perception for over 20 years," she said.
