15 killed in SA township
JOHANNESBURG (Reuter) - At least 15 people were killed in South Africa yesterday in clashes in Thokoza township near Johannesburg. Police said 13 blacks died and at least 60 other people were wounded in clashes between Inkatha and ANC supporters. Two white security guards were killed later when a crowd of angry blacks turned on them on the edge of the township. Before the full extent of the casualties became clear, the ANC leader Nelson Mandela appealed for peace between his supporters and those of Inkatha, saying: 'Enough is enough . . . Let's make peace. Let's apologise to one another.'
