Abkhazia bombed
MOSCOW (Reuter) - Georgian forces bombed rebel-held towns in the breakaway region of Abkhazia yesterday, and Moscow warned it might act to protect Russians caught in the fighting, Itar-Tass news agency said. President Boris Yeltsin said Russia could 'take appropriate measures' to protect its citizens trapped in the conflict.
