Shoplifter slams into revolving glass door

A suspected shoplifter slammed straight into a revolving glass door while trying to escape in a South African shopping mall.

The CCTV footage from a security video shows the woman running towards the door, shattering the glass with her head and falling down upon impact.

She then briefly attempts to exit by pushing the correct side of revolving door, but gives up and makes her escape through a side exit with the assistance of a man.

According to the date on the video, the incident occurred in September at the Baywest Mall in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. However, the footage has resurfaced after being shared hundreds of thousands of times online over the weekend.

A week after the incident, Sonja de Necker, General Manager of Baywest Mall, confirmed to the South African newspaper The Herald that the woman in the video was allegedly involved in a shoplifting incident at the Red Square store in the mall.

It is not known if the woman sustained any injuries and no arrests have been made, The Herald reported.
