Brazil: 400 couples tie the knot in huge mass wedding at football stadium

Over 400 couples were married in a mass wedding at Corinthians football stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Saturday.

Attended by over 9,000 guests, the couples were married in groups of 40, free of charge, in an initiative organised by the local government to provide for those with low-incomes.

Each couple was provided with a marriage license, a bouquet of red roses and a portrait of themselves on their special day.

They were later treated to a small banquet, and entertainment provided by a local military band and a samba group named "gavioes da fiel".
