Five people have been shot dead in an apparent murder-suicide in the US.

Police found the victims, who have not been identified, in different rooms of the same house in Tucson, Arizona.

Sergeant Pete Dugan told the Associated Press that the bodies were discovered at around 6pm local time (2am BST) on Tuesday.

All of them had “obvious signs of gunshot trauma”, he added, saying that because detectives believe the shooter killed themselves a search had not been launched for suspects.

The alarm was raised by a man who walked into the home and discovered the crime scene, Tucson News Now reported.

The house, in the south of the city, has been closed off as investigations continue.

The relationship between the victims was unclear but police said none of them appeared to be children.
