Troian Bellisario has opened up about the “extreme anxiety” she faced over the outfit she wore to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding.

The Pretty Little Liars star recalled her outfit struggles leading up to the 2018 wedding, which she attended with her husband Patrick J Adams, Markle's former Suits co-star and on-screen husband, in a new interview with The Daily Telegraph’s Stellar.

In response to a question about whether she experienced “outfit anxiety,” the 34-year-old said: “Of course I did, and I had it two-fold. One, because I was trying to conceal the fact that I was five months pregnant. I was absolutely positive that it was going to be revealed.”

According to Bellisario, she also had “extreme anxiety” about “those hat things,” otherwise known as fascinators.

“They look ridiculous unless you’re in the 1930s,” the actress said. “You could get one that is an absolute piece of art, but then are you being too vain and trying to call too much attention to yourself? Or if you get a fascinator that’s very small, are you not going for tradition?

“I’d never needed a fascinator in my life, and here I was trying to walk this tightrope of ‘don’t go too big, don’t go too small.’”

“It was a nightmare,” she added.

For the occasion, the actress ended up wearing a pale pink Temperley London dress and matching fascinator, which she chose after consulting with her Australian-born stylist, who assured her the head covering was appropriate.

"I called her right before I was about to walk out the door and I was like: 'Annabelle, this is not a full hat.' And she said: 'It’s fine, you have a veil, you have a head covering.'" Bellisario recalled. "And I was like: 'If the British press tears me apart, I can never forgive you for this.' And she said: 'Trust me, I’m an Aussie. I’ve got you!'"

In an Instagram post shared the day of the wedding, Bellisario called the occasion “off the charts amazing”.

“Congratulations Meghan and Harry. I am so grateful I got to witness your love today. There are many happy years to come. Also. Thank you so much @annabelleharron & @temperleylondon for making me feel so beautiful on such a momentous occasion,” the actress captioned the photo of herself and her husband.
