Jon Stewart will be retiring from The Daily Show later this year, as the comedian announced on Tuesday during the recording of his show.

After 17 years in the host’s seat at the Comedy Central show, Mr Stewart has become the top satirical news voice in the US, spawning the shows Colbert Report and Last Week Tonight, featuring Stephen Colbert and John Oliver, respectively.

Over the years, Mr Stewart took great pleasure in mixing it up with hosts of traditional news shows, often those whose political beliefs different from his own. Hilarity often ensued. Below are five of the best battles Mr Steward with other media figures.
