Three New Jersey police officers have been wounded after a man opened fire on them inside a police station.
The gunman, who was shot and killed by police during the altercation, was originally brought in for a domestic incident.
He is said to have got into a scuffle with officers inside the station, grabbed a gun from one of them and opened fire.
CBS reported that one of the victims was hit just below the bulletproof vest and is undergoing surgery at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. He is said to be in stable condition and is expected to recover.
The other two officers, a male and female, sustained minor grazes and are expected to be released later today.
The incident is the latest in a wave of gun violence in the US.
Two weeks ago a gunman killed 26 people, including 20 children, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
One week ago in western Pennsylvania, a man with a pistol fatally shot three people and then opened fire on police.
And also last week an ex-convict killed two firefighters who were putting out a fire he started at the house he shared with his sister.
