Petra Nemcova, a Czech supermodel, has been named ambassador at large for Haiti because of the work she does through her charity, the Happy Hearts Fund.

She was honoured at a private ceremony at the National Palace in Port-au-Prince with President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe.

Her charity's main focus is helping children by building schools. She joins the Hollywood actor Sean Penn and hip-hop musician Wyclef Jean who carry the same title.
