Obama's host dies from 'flu-like symptoms'

The White House says that Barack Obama is "highly engaged" in monitoring the swine flu outbreak that has spread over the border from Mexico into the US – and well he might. For a while, the President's doctors feared that he may have come closer than almost anyone in the country to contracting the virus.
According to alarming reports from Mexico City, Felipe Solis, a distinguished archaeologist who showed Mr Obama around the city's anthropology museum during his visit to Mexico earlier this month, died the next day from "flu-like symptoms".
Mr Solis met the President at a gala dinner which was held at the museum on 16 April, before Mr Obama travelled on to the Americas summit in Trinidad and Tobago.
Yesterday, the museum was shut, in common with most public attractions in Mexico City, and the nation's Health Minister confirmed that Mr Solis had died of pneumonia – but that it was not thought he had contracted swine flu.
In the US, the White House said that the President's doctors had given him an all-clear. Mr Obama showed no symptoms after the usual incubation period, his spokesman said.

According to these, noted archeologist Felipe Solis Holguin died of a heart attack and not the day after he showed Obama around the Museum of Anthropology, but on 23 April. Obama visited Mexico on 16 and 17 April.
Will Obama escape this or will he be accused of bringing the swine virus to Mexico
on his visit and causing a pandemic?

Conversely, if anything American has a whiff of Brit about it and is at the top of its league, they'll claim it as their own. They were perfectly happy to crow about Britney Spears's or Andy Roddick's ENGLISH grandparent when those two were top of the heap.

This is the height of irresponsibility. "Flu like symptoms" become "pneumonia" and "not thought of...swine flu".
Even then, how does a healthy person die of pneumonia in one day? One day you are well enough to show the President around and the next day you catch pneumonia and die? Whoever wrote it ought to be sent to another job that does not tax the intellect as much.
Shameless fear mongering.
Continued dependence on animal flesh will only result in mass pandemics like this one and maybe the answer to human over population.
Be VEGETARIAN- much cheaper, much cleaner , better for the environment and better your health - a win -win situation overall!!

If we cut that in half we could make all of the Obama campaign promises come true, but of course we're not. Instead we cut school programs like art, music, sports, and after school stuff that would reduce gang attendance, we build more prisons, we watch our infrastructure rot, we export our factories (already over half) to foreign countries, give a good percentage of the new lower paying service jobs to illegal aliens who flow across our porous border with impunity to have anchor babies on welfare, driving hospitals out of business and overwhelming school systems. Oh yes, and we print money like water, all the while if we take a miniscule half step towards any band aid solutions the Republicans cry " OH GOD NO THAT'S SOCIALISM ".
What a nightmare. It's like the country is being destroyed from within. Who needs war when idiots and war pigs like this run things?
But don't take my word for it - read anything political by Gore Vidal or Noam Chomsky, 'Confessions of an Economic Hit Man' by John Perkins, 'Globalization and its Discontents' by Joseph E. Stiglitz, 'The Twilight of American Culture' by Morris Berman, 'The New Nuclear Danger' by Helen Caldicott, etc. etc. They're probably all in your local library, turn off your TV and stop going to idiotic movies and start educating yourselves. If you think bogwart16 is angry for no good reason then you simply don't read enough. Your media is controlled, whether you like it or not. What's an example... just look at how one sided the coverage of Israel vs Palestine is. Look at who owns the media companies.
bogwart16 had the guts to say what he believes to be true, you can't prove him wrong by being a nationalistic simpleton, read books, educate yourselves, prove him wrong with fats... if you can.
Here is to hoping that the British continue their downward fall into their own police state under the fascists that run the country and have cameras at every intersection and house watching your every move. After all, wasn't Eric Blair correct about 1984 just that he was off by 25 years. Other than that, he foresaw the British experiment with a police state.
Which in retrospect is why the Americans kicked you all over the colonies and we could definitely do it again today. There are enough Americans that would gladly volunteer again today for sure. I'm seeing it more and more every day. We like our guns in America and just remember that General Gage and his scum was trying to stop the people from having guns. Oops, that started a bloody war with the losers. Guess that might have to happen again so that the socialist scum in the UK and even in the US gets the point. A lot of Americans aren't socialists and there are enough of us to make your day a living hell.
