Police in Michigan are appealing for witnesses after a mother and baby were hit by a van in a car park.

The police have released shocking footage of the incident in a bid to identify the driver. In the video the driver of the people carrier can be seen reversing into the mother and her one-year-old son who is sitting in a push chair.

As the driver tries to the flee the scene, the back of vehicle catches onto the buggy and the child is dragged along the ground until the van briefly stops. Once the boy is freed the van drives off leaving the victims stunned.

The hit-and-run took place in a parking lot in Muskegon, Michigan but miraculously the pair were unhurt apart from some minor injuries.
