A former actress has said Steven Seagal raped her when she was working as a film extra in 1993.

Regina Simons claims Mr Seagal invited her to a party at a house to celebrate finishing filming for 1994 action movie On Deadly Ground.

But Ms Simons said when she arrived at the venue, she discovered she was the only guest. She was 18 years old at the time.

During an interview broadcast on Friday on NBC’s Megyn Kelly Today, Ms Simons claims the actor undressed her and assaulted her on a bed.

“Before I knew it, he was on top of me and I couldn’t move. I just completely froze and I even felt that I had left my body”, she said.

During the alleged attack, Ms Simons said she remembers looking at a photo of Mr Seagal and “the lady from Weird Science”. At the time, Mr Seagal was married to Kelly LeBrock, who starred in the sci-fi comedy film.

She said the assault seemed “very quick” and she was caught off-guard.

“I know what consent is and that definitely was not consensual,” she said. The alleged attack was “very predatory, very aggressive and traumatising”, she added.

Ms Simons said she reported her allegations to Beverly Hills, California police, where the incident occurred.

Mr Seagal’s lawyer did not immediately return calls for comment.

Other women have accused Mr Seagal of sexual misconduct, including actor Jenny McCarthy, who said the action star sexually harassed her during a 1995 audition.

Portia de Rossi, meanwhile, has accused Mr Seagal of unzipping her trousers during an audition. Mr Seagal's manager said at the time that the actor had no comment on the allegation.

A spokesman for Mr Seagal denied Ms McCarthy’s accusations to The Daily Beast. Ms McCarthy had previously told film and entertainment magazine Movieline about the alleged harassment in 1998.
