Cheering crowds greeted more than 1,000 indigenous protesters as they entered Bolivia's capital, La Paz, after a two-month march from the Amazon lowlands.

They were protesting against the construction of a road through the Amazon rainforest. The project has prompted accusations that President Evo Morales discriminates against Amazon indigenous groups in favour of highland Indians.
