A two-year-old has had to say goodbye to his best friend due to his family moving house – a bin man.

Deacon Ross, 2, has waited every Friday for his best friend called O’Dee, their local bin man in the city of Dallas.

His mother Summer, told local ABC News: "He’s really just struck up this friendship with O’Dee. [He] looks forward to Fridays."

"I think this is Deacon’s first friend [where] he really understands what friendship is," she adds.

The video shows their last meeting, in which the garbage truck approaches and Deacon shouts "Him coming! Him coming, him coming. Collect our garbage!"

The two fist bump for the last time and O’Dee says he never realised his impact on the child, but now "I can see it."
