Warren attacks 'arrogant billionaire' Bloomberg at Las Vegas debate

It’s safe to say Elizabeth Warren went in all guns blazing against Mike Bloomberg in Wednesday's Democratic debate in Las Vegas.

After falling behind in the race for US Democratic presidential hopeful, the court of public opinion rallied to Ms Warren’s aid after her savage condemnation of his attitudes towards women and his position as an “arrogant billionaire”.

So, if you missed the debate’s explosion on social media or just want to revisit some of the senator's best burns of the evening, see below for the three moments that Elizabeth Warren destroyed the former New York mayor on the Democratic debate stage.

“Billionaire who calls women fat broads and horse-faced lesbians”
Ms Warren set the brutal tone of the evening with an early comment that elicited gasps from audience members, candidly slating Donald Trump in the process and calling out Mr Bloomberg as having a sexist outlook.

"I'd like to talk about who we're running against, a billionaire who calls women fat broads and horse faced lesbians. I'm not talking about Donald Trump. I'm talking about Mayor Bloomberg."

“So we can hear their side of the story”
A moment described on Twitter as the point that the Bloomberg campaign imploded on itself, as Warren turned the focus on to Bloomberg's history of NDAs signed by women within his company.

“He has gotten some number of women – dozens, who knows – to sign non-disclosure agreements for gender harassment and gender discrimination in the workplace. So Mr Mayor, are you willing to release all those women from those non-disclosure agreements so we can hear their side of the story,” she said.

“Drip drip drip of stories of women saying they have been harassed”
Bloomberg, who has not participated in a public debate for over a decade, appeared unprepared for the onslaught and only seemed to add fuel to the fire with ill-advised and aloof comments that Warren was having none of.

“We have a very few non-disclosure agreements, none of them accuse me of doing anything other than maybe they didn’t like a joke I told. And let me point out these are agreements between two parties that wanted to keep it quiet and that’s up to them.”

Ms Warren swiftly rebutted with one final attack: “We are not going to beat Donald Trump with a man who has who knows how many non-disclosure agreements and the drip drip drip of stories of women saying they have been harassed and discriminated against.”

In the aftermath of the debate social media lit up with support for Ms Warren with the hashtag #WarrenForTheWin becoming a top trend on Twitter on Thursday.
