Briton killed in Philippines motorcycle shooting
Wednesday 22 September 2010
Police said a British man was shot dead in the northern Philippines in the second attack in as many days against a foreigner in the country.
Bruce Anthony Jones was in a car in Angeles city en route to meet friends in a firing range yesterday when two men on a motorcycle fatally shot him and wounded his Filipino wife.
Senior Supt Danilo Bautista said today the 50-year-old Mr Jones was a resident of the nearby city of Olongapo. His hometown was not immediately available.
The wife will undergo operation for a gunshot wound and has not yet talked to police at length. But she told investigators she does not recognise the gunmen. Police have no suspect yet.
On Monday, assailants also shot dead an American man in the southern Iligan city.
