Earthquake strikes off Indonesia coast

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck off the Indonesian coast of western Sumatra today, the United States Geological Survey said, but no tsunami warning was issued.

The USGS said the quake was recorded at 14.35 GMT 98 miles west of Bengkulu at a shallow depth of 5.8 miles.
