Floodwaters ravaged hundreds of villages in Punjab yesterday, destroying homes, soaking crops, and threatening more lives.

Aid workers added that bloated rivers would soon surge into the country's south, prompting more evacuations. This year's monsoon has caused the worst flooding in living memory. More than 1,500 people have died, and the UN is trying to provide assistance to 3.2 million people in a country already struggling with a poor economy.
