A girl has been arrested in Pakistan on murder charges in connection with the death of her father who had allegedly raped his daughters and attempted to rape herself.

The girl from the Pirabad area of Karachi told police in a statement she had planned to set her father on fire after he allegedly attempted to rape her.

She also alleged the father had raped her older and younger sisters, Dawn newspaper reported.

The girl’s brother alleged in the police report that his sister used sleeping pills to drug their father before setting him on fire.

Superintendent Police Investigation Akhtar Farook said the man died from his injuries.

The girl has been taken into custody on charges of premeditated murder and punishment for intention to cause hurt and is being held at the Women Police Station West Zone Liaquatabad Kirachi, Pakistan Today reported.

A Pakistani woman died last year after a man she is understood to have refused to marry doused her in petrol and set her alight. She suffered serious burns across nearly 50 per cent of her body and died after her wounds became infected.
