In pictures: Jagannath Rath Yatra festival in India

The Rath Yatra, or Chariot Festival, is a Hindu festival where three deities are taken out of their temple on chariots and carried around the city.

Thousands of revellers from across the world take part in this festival to try and catch a glimpse of the statues along their journey.
