Wild boar causes havoc in Hong Kong shopping mall after falling through ceiling - video
...this little piggy went to market
The Chai Wan shopping Mall in Hong Kong is used to opening its doors to tens of thousands of people every day.
However, yesterday night they might have welcomed their wildest shopper yet.
As shoppers perused the shops for the latest bargains, workers in the Kingkow store were running for cover after a 55-pound boar fell through the shop’s ceiling.
The animal eventually made its way into the children’s clothes shop and climbed above the store’s false ceiling, before falling through the ceiling and onto the floor.
About 10 police officers then arrived but were unable to prevent the boisterous boar from knocking down a number of mannequins and causing general chaos in the shop.
The metre-long animal was then taken by Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department officers and released back into the wild.
It is not uncommon for boars to be spotted in the southern Chinese city, with many living in the forested hills that surround the city.
The incident at the Chai Wan shopping mall was the second case of a boar entering the city yesterday after witnesses reported spotting another animal entering the Tsuen Wan Park and taking a dip in its pool.
