Aum tried to enlist soldiers
Tokyo - The Japanese government admitted for the first time that it suspected the Aum "Supreme Truth" cult of trying to enlist members of the armed forces for a plot to overthrow the state. The Minister of Defence, Tokuichiro Tamazawa, was commenting about a 38-year-old first lieutenant found to have given a military manual on chemical weapons to Aum last year. AFP
