Gabon's outgoing president, Omar Bongo, has been re-elected in the first round of voting, according to provisional results from the country's first-ever multiparty poll, AFP reports from Libreville. Radio Africa N-1 said Mr Bongo won 51.07 per cent of Sunday's poll, avoiding a run-off against his rival, Paul Mba Abessole.
