Bonn (Reuter) - The Foreign Minister, Klaus Kinkel, suggested yesterday that Germany would seek a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, Bonn's strongest claim yet to a greater UN role since German unity in 1990. Mr Kinkel told the newspaper Welt am Sonntag that Bonn would 'pursue German interests' if Japan sought a permanent Security Council seat.
