Couple survive after cement tanker almost crushes their car in southern China

Dramatic footage shows the couple’s car completely demolished

Dramatic video has emerged of the moment a couple were involved in a devastating car crash in Ningbo City, located in southern China.

The footage recorded by a surveillance camera shows a cement tanker swerving, but it rolls over the top of a car at an intersection.

The full extent of the damage can be seen by the television reports which show the couple’s car completely totalled.

State broadcaster CCTV reports they both survived the impact.

Passers-by pulled the woman from the wreckage of the car before emergency services arrived.

The man was eventually rescued using a forklift and hydraulic tools.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital where the woman has undergone surgery and the man is said to be "not out of danger yet."

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
