A Filipino church leader, Joel Cunanan, is being held in solitary confinement in Saudi Arabia after the authorities broke up a prayer meeting on 26 August, according to Christian Solidarity International (CSI), an evangelical group, writes Charles Richards. Three other Filipino Christians are being held in detention in a local police lock-up. Acts of Christian worship are illegal in Saudi Arabia, where the religious police zealously enforce strict observance of Islamic norms.
