Congo's rebels to fight on

CONGOLESE rebels warned yesterday they would continue their war against the government of President Laurent Kabila despite the signing of a peace accord to end Africa's biggest war.

The accord was signed on Saturday by President Kabila, his Zimbabwean, Namibian and Angolan allies and by Uganda and Rwanda, which have supported the rebels.

Squabbling between two factions of the Congolese Rally for Democracy kept the rebels from signing the cease-fire.
