Cyprus pledge
NICOSIA (Reuter) - Glafcos Clerides, the President-elect of Cyprus, said he would attend United Nations-sponsored talks on ending the 18-year division of the island, possibly in April.
On Tuesday the Foreign Secretary, Douglas Hurd, urged leaders of the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities to attend the next round of talks chaired by the UN Secretary-General.
