Czechs halt vote
PRAGUE (AFP) - The Czechoslovak federal parliament adjourned its debate on the future of the country until Thursday after its surprise vote in favour of creating a 'Czech-Slovak Union'. The next round of voting in the presidential election has also been postponed, until 26 November, because of a lack of candidates.
The adjournment will allow the Czech and Slovak leaders and their parties to clarify the confused political situation.
