Deng 'criticalwith haemorrhage'
China's 92-year-old leader Deng Xiaoping is critically ill after suffering a brain haemorrhage, the Japanese daily newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported last night.
The paper said that sources close to senior officials in the People's Liberation Army said that Mr Deng had "recently suffered a brain haemorrhage". However, China's State Council said it had not heard of any change in Mr Deng's condition. AP - Tokyo
