BRUSSELS - The EC still regards it as possible to agree a world trade deal with the US, writes Andrew Marshall.

'It is in the mutual interest of the US and the EC that we seek agreement,' said Poul Rasmussen, Denmark's Prime Minister, after meeting Jacques Delors, the Commission President. 'It is in the interests of Europe that we intensify our contacts,' added Mr Rasmussen, whose country holds the EC Presidency.
