Egypt seeks a helping hand

CAIRO - Following successful exhibitions of Pharaonic treasures, Egypt is sending a saint's centuries-old severed hand on a world tour to promote tourism, Reuter reports.

What is described as the 'dark brown' beringed hand of Saint Catherine, crucified on a wheel by the Roman emperor Maximinius in the third century, will be sent to Europe from its usual resting place at a Sinai monastery, the antiquities authority said.
