Tokyo - Empress Michiko has partially regained her ability to speak, the Imperial Palace said yesterday. 'Her Majesty has spoken a few sentences very slowly,' said Dr Ichiro Kanazawa. Michiko collapsed on her 59th birthday on 20 October. Officials attributed her inability to speak to depression over critical articles in the press. Reuter
