To mark the 20th anniversary of the reunification of Germany, which will be celebrated on Sunday, Berlin’s Museum of Film and Television has given The Independent Online access to its extensive archive of personal photographs from the time.

From cakes baked to celebrate German unity to protestors in conflict with police in Alexanderplatz, the ‘Moments in Time 1989/1990’ archive is collection of snapshots providing insight into the deep changes that followed the fall of the Berlin wall.
