The ex-girlfriend of a murdered British millionaire has reportedly claimed that she is pregnant with his child and that she shot him in self-defence after they argued over maintenance payments.

Andrew Bush, 48, was found shot dead in his mansion in Spain last weekend and his former partner, 23-year-old Slovakian model Mayka Kukucova, is facing extradition from her home country over the killing.

A source close to the investigation told the Daily Mirror that Ms Kukucova had sent a text message to her parents describing what she said had happened.

“Mayka told them she went to Spain to discuss financial arrangements for the child with Mr Bush because he was refusing to speak to her,” the source said.

“She says that she confronted him about it, but he then attacked her and she was forced to defend herself. She claims to have the bruises to prove it.”

Mr Bush, a gold dealer and jeweller from Bristol, had just returned to his rented house in Estepona on the Costa del Sol with his partner Maria Korotaeva, 21, in the early hours of Saturday morning when he was killed.

Ms Korotaeva reportedly said she had gone outside when she realised there was someone else in the house.

She then found herself locked out and called the emergency services. Firefighters broke in and found Mr Bush’s body.

Mr Bush’s ex-wife, Sam Mason, his daughter Ellie, 19, and his sister Rachael left bouquets of flowers outside the house yesterday.

His sister left a message saying: “I will get you justice. I promise you with all my heart and soul you are never gone.”
