Austrian far-right leader pelted with eggs
Some 500 booing demonstrators pelted the Austrian far-right leader, Jorg Haider, with eggs at a rally in Bonn, Reuter reports from Bonn. They blew whistles, heckled and threw eggs, tomatoes and paint bombs to try to disrupt Mr Haider's rally for a small German right-wing party running in the European Parliament elections.
Mr Haider urged Germans to vote against European integration and said mainstream parties had lost touch with the people.
