Bolger survives
WELLINGTON - New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jim Bolger, began putting out feelers to the opposition yesterday after his National Party survived a by-election scare to cling to its one-seat majority in parliament. The government fended off the left-wing Alliance to win the seat of Selwyn by 346 votes. Reuter
